With the release of the brand-new Arrma Kraton 8S, we were lucky enough to get our hands one for a test drive and review... and what an epic car! The Kraton 8S is a massive 1/5th scale beast that is packed full of features and can reach speeds up to 90km/h. We’re going to break this review down into the three main categories of any RC car – electronics, maintenance and durability. Let’s get into it!

Electronics

Because the Kraton 8S is a large 1/5th scale RC car, from the electronic point of view there are certainly some new products, running a full Spektrum system including the DX2E Active transmitter and SR6100AT AVC receiver that allows you to add telemetry functions. With the Spektrum radio system and some additional sensors we have a huge range of telemetry available to us, making it possible to keep track of things like ESC temperature, motor RPM, receiver voltage and drive pack voltage

With such beautiful weather in Adelaide, we had to get out of the office and test fly the new Blade 150 S RC helicopter. Featuring SAFE technology, this brilliant helicopter is perfect for those pilots who are wanting to move from a fixed pitch to a collective pitch heli. With progressive flight modes, you can use this RC helicopter as a collective pitch trainer as well as performing advanced sporty 3D aerobatics. Arrma's 2019 Talion Truggy

There have been many upgrades to the Arrma Talion 2019 RC Truggy, but first, we will cover the new radio system. The Talion has moved to a Spektrum based radio system using the STX2 controller which contains some great features, including a throttle limiting switch that you can adjust to 50%, 75% and 100% throttle. This feature is ideal for less experienced drivers limiting them to speeds where the RC car is easier to control. Once the driver is confident and has improved their skills, they can adjust the throttle limit to 75% and 100%.

The Losi Ford Raptor Baja Rey Desert Truck is one of the hottest releases in the surface market for some time. It comes in two versions, the King Shocks (blue), and the Black Rhino (grey) version. This RC car is very similar to the existing 1/10 scale Baja Rey including all the scale detail for the licensed Ford shell. The scale details and appearance on the Losi Ford Raptor is second to none, it’s one of the toughest looking short course trucks that we have and has the performance to match.
