Way back in 2009 Horizon Hobby introduced their first electric powered glider, the ParkZone Radian which was a huge success by any measure. This simple 2 metre, 3 channel foam glider was quick to assemble, light and soared in the weakest of thermals. What more could a budding RC Glider pilot ask for?
Owing some of its design cues to the 1974 Hobie Hawk with an elliptical wing plan form and elliptical dihedral, the Radian has a distinctive look in the sky. Tens of thousands of RC pilots have enjoyed the easy flying characteristics and great soaring abilities of the Radian.
RC glider clubs all over the world hold one model competitions for the Radian including the Southern Soaring League in Adelaide. Up to 20 pilots launch their models on the sound of the hooter and climb under power to 100 metres where the motor is turned off. The task is to fly

An exciting new release has emerged from the ParkZone hangar. The new Sukhoi SU-29MM RC plane has just been announced and it is certain to be a groundbreaker. Designed by the champion pilot Mike McConville, the Sukhoi comes equipped with Sensor-Assisted Flight Envelope (SAFE) Technology. This is a first for an aerobatic RC plane. SAFE will allow you to perform fantastic maneuvers in the air with more confidence and less risk. This technology gives you four different flight modes with the Sukhoi, which we will look at in turn.
The first mode is "Stagility", whereby the Sukhoi can perform any aerobatic or 3D maneuver, but will return to upright flight immediately if you release both sticks. The second mode is AS3X 3D. This mode balances sharp response with great stability when you perform

Even if you taught yourself how to fly with a HobbyZone model, you will find that the transition to the ParkZone ArtiZan will be a smooth one.
The key to the ArtiZan's success is the included AS3X technology, which gives you great stability in the air by countering environmental factors such as wind and turbulence. ParkZone have also given this RC plane a chambered construction, with a large wing area and low weight. This

October 17, 2013 83If you have an appreciation for scale warbirds, this new release from ParkZone is sure to capture your attention. The Mosquito Mk VI has just been announced and it has many noteworthy features. This is the first twin-motor park flyer from ParkZone and, in keeping with their traditions, ParkZone have ensured that this plane delivers smooth and predictable flight characteristics. The dual motors have been mounted so that their counter-rotating props and thrust angles smooth out the effects of abrupt power changes. This makes this model R/C plane as fun and as relaxing to fly as any other single-motor ParkZone model. The motors in question are 370-size, 1300Kv brushless motors, both of which are powered by a single 3S 2000-2200mAh LiPo pack (sold separately). Even if you add the optional flap servos and electric retracts (sold separately),

April 07, 2011 34Constructed almost entirely of plywood and powered by twin Merlin V12s, the DeHavilland Mosquito Mk VI was incredibly fast and maneuverable for a plane of its size. This speed and maneuverability combined with its relatively long range earned it a variety of combat roles during World War II that included everything from low-level reconnaissance to anti-shipping and night fighter missions. We meet with Matt Andren, the Product Developer on the Mossy to see what has come to life in this new Ultra Micro model.
