This week we have received some amazing new aircrafts and RC cars, including the new Viper RC Jet from E-flite, so let's get into it and see what we've got.

Victorious Viper EDF Jet

The Viper is a Brand-New 70mm electric ducted fan Jet from E-flite. It is available in two versions, a Bind-N-Fly (BNF) and a Plug-and-Play version (PNP). PNP would be ideal for non-Spektrum transmitter users as it allows you to use your own receiver. This EDF RC Jet comes pre-assembled and you will need to add your own receiver, transmitter, battery and charger. Spektrum Radio users will benefit from the BNF version as it includes a pre-installed Spektrum receiver with exclusive AS3X and SAFE select technologies tuned

March 30th and 31st brought me to Thailand Heli Blowout 2019 at the Thung Srikan Flying Field in Bangkok, (THB) Asia's premier fun fly and Competition. This would be my first competition and demos out of Australia.

We arrived Thursday afternoon to the airport where we were greeted by my Teammates father Narong Poonoi who drove us off to the hotel to assemble helis for practice starting Friday.

The weather in Bangkok was quite a shock to the system with temperatures above 35°c and humidity in the high 60's.

Friday I managed to get in 7 flights of practice even with the chaotic flight lines, mainly set manoeuvers as that's what I was flying on Saturday. I made some good progress with the help of my teammates. Inbetween flights I was assisting the team with mechanical issues throughout the day where I could. I left Friday feeling better about

FPV Rock Crawler from ECX

Today we're going to bring you a bit of a close-up on a great product we have available from ECX - The Barrage UV Scaler. This is a 1/24 scale RC crawler with scale officially licensed tyres, dish wheels, LED lights, a detailed scale body, a functional 5th spare tyre and some other great features.

So this time tomorrow one of our team, Jamie Nancarrow, will be setting off as part of Road Raise 2019 - a fundraising initiative first launched in 2015 to raise vital funds and awareness for CanTeen. Thanks to the incredible efforts of those involved in Road Raise, CanTeen has raised over $550,000 since 2015, and hope to raise close to $200,000 from the 2019 event. These funds help support young people coping with cancer in their family, rebuild their foundations and connect with others in similar situations. What is Road Raise?

Road Raise is a seven-day cycling ride from Adelaide to Melbourne taking place from the 6th to 12th April 2019. A modern day classic

The Phoenix Models Scanner 46 size ARF model hit Australian shores in early 1998. It was the brainchild of the late Tony Farnan and Phoenix Models who saw the need for a ‘second’ model for the beginner to transition to once they achieved solo status. The Scanner was awarded the Best Hobby Product of the Year at the 1998 ATA Toy and Hobby Fair and since then thousands of MAAA modellers have successfully flown a Scanner.

This low wing model features a thick airfoil, parallel chord and a long tail moment which makes for very forgiving flight characteristics. March 14th - 17th took me to Heli Heatwave 2019. This annual RC helicopter event this year made the move from Wagga Wagga to the NSW State Flying Field in Cootamundra for 2019.

We’ve restocked some favourite items this week, including Premier Aircraft’s Flex Jet and Cap 232, the E-flite V900, as well as the Trail Honcho and Jeep Cherokee SCX10 IIs by Axial. Let’s get into it!

Flex Jet Thrust Vector Super 

The Flex jet from Premier Aircraft is a super-capable, electric-ducted fan jet. This has been out for a while in the two colours (red and blue), but Premier Aircraft have updated it by adding thrust vectoring, meaning it's opened a wider range of 3D manoeuvres this model can perform, and there’s more control authority, so essentially, you're capable of doing a lot more in the air. We're going to take a walk through the types of battery connectors on offer and also the ones that will work with multiple brands to make understanding your “plugs” that little easier.

A majority of the batteries within the RC market come with four main plugs fitted, these are Deans, EC3, XT60, and JST, or some variant of these like EC5 (a bigger version of the EC3 which can handle higher current through it). All these serve a purpose. When fitting a new plug the Deans style are normally easier to work with (solder) if you have some experience as they have a small tab to solder onto. It means that any overheating of the tab while soldering can result in heat transferring to the plug housing, for beginners out there,
