When we announced the Hangar 9 Inverza 33, we honestly thought that aerobatic planes couldn't get any more exciting. Today we stand corrected. Modelflight are pleased to inform you all that the Hangar 9 Inverza 62 will be coming soon and we are eagerly anticipating its arrival. The Inverza 62 was inspired by the Inverza project, lead by full-scale aircraft builder Kevin Kimball. Although this full-size plane is yet to be built, with the Inverza 62, you can witness the aerobatic potential of this design at your local field.

If you love the thrill of aerobatic flying, you are going to love the new E-Flite Carbon-Z Yak 3X 54. Following their popular Carbon-Z Yak 54, E-Flite have announced the Yak 54 3X RC plane. This version of the Yak comes with Artificial Stabilisation - 3aXis (AS3X) technology built-in to the included AR635 receiver, giving you a wide flight envelope and excellent stability. Because the AS3X minimises the effect of wind and turbulence, you can perform a range of aerobatic maneuvers with great precision. You will find that the effect of this

December 20, 2013 25Christmas has come early for fans of scale model planes with Hangar 9 announcing the release of the Spitfire Mk IX. This RC plane is a true stunner. It comes with accurate details including camouflage colours modelled on the original Mk IXc plane, panel line detail and scale decal sets. This is quite a versatile aircraft; you have the option of running it on electric or gas power, depending on your preferences. Irrespective of your choice, you will find that the Spitfire is a great performer in the air. Among its many features, the Spitfire remote control plane comes with operational split-flaps with internal linkages, giving you both scale performance and appearance. Hangar 9 have also added cowl details such as carburetor intake, compressor intake and moulded engine exhaust. You will also notice the fixed landing

November 22, 2013 3A fun night of indoor flying was held last night at ETSA Stadium, Adelaide. There were around 30 pilots and spectators in attendance and, once again, a variety of models were on show. Of particular interest was the new Blade 180QX. This RC quadcopter was very stable in the air, thanks to the included SAFE Technology. Similar to the 350 QX, this quadcopter comes with an on-board camera, which certainly came in handy last night, as we were able to capture some great footage from the sky. If you haven't already seen this footage (along with the other video highlights we captured), check out our video below: As you can see, the 180 QX is very smooth in the air and was able to film all the action of the event. If you are looking for an

November 21, 2013 25We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to Hangar 9's range of model planes. The de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver is an accurate replica of the full-scale plane of the same name (commonly referred to as the "bush plane" given its ability to handle rugged environments). It comes with a 110inch wingspan and is designed for 30cc gas power, but can also accomodate electric power. Hangar 9 are well known for the quality of their models (as any fan can attest) and the Beaver is no different. It is constructed from the best balsa and plywood materials using modern construction processes, form assembly, tab alignment rigidity and laser-cut part accuracy. Regardless of whether the Beaver is your first giant-scale

November 12, 2013 5Whilst it was only a handful of eager beavers who played on the highly polished floor under the lights, never-the-less, a good time was had by all and few would complain of the number of flights that they enjoyed. It was a bumper night for Mike O'Reilly for he endured lots of time setting up a couple of new and exciting models at no expense to any other fliers. His efforts were much appreciated. My first pic shows the latest import at Model Flight with the highly attractive UMX SBach 342 3D to give it its full title which is almost larger than the micro model. Like most of the micros being imported into our country these days it is quite quick but delightfully steady in flight. Well - it was when in Mike's hands and as it was the first of its kind in the country at that time, I don't recall seeing anyone else

October 18, 2013 3ETSA Stadium once again played host to RC pilots and spectators last night at Adelaide's October 2013 indoor flying event. It was a good showing, with around 25 people in attendance (plus an additional 25 netball players who were meant to be practicing on the other court, but seemed to be distracted by the flying activity). A wide variety of RC models were on display at the event, with a great representation from increasingly-popular RC quadcopters. Several Blade mQXs were seen darting across the stadium. With their AS3X technology, they were very stable in the air and enjoyable to watch. It was also great to see a new Blade 350QX. These remote control quadcopters have been a hit and have just arrived at Modelflight. With their SAFE Technology and GoPro camera mounts, no doubt we will be seeing more of these models at future Indoor Flying events. On

In this blog post, we will be covering a frequently asked question at Modelflight - how do I bind my air radio to my RC plane? Recently on Modelflight's YouTube Channel, we added a video that explains this procedure:

August 20, 2013 6It was a great turnout at the August indoor flying session at ETSA Park, South Australia. Pilots and spectactors flocked to see some brilliant RC plane and helicopter demonstrations, in addition to seeing some of the latest releases from Modelflight. It was an impressive line-up. Some of the new models that were on show included the new 350 QX from Blade, the Delta Ray from
