May 01, 2013 20Indeed, after months of anticipation, the 2013 JR Aerotow did come to the Warracknabeal Aerodome and Modelflight was there to capture all the action. Over 4 jam-packed days, 50 pilots from across Australia experienced some incredible scale soaring performances. There were over 100 scale gliders at the event, ranging from the small E-Flite Ultra Micro ASK-21 to a 7.5 metre-span, 1/2-scale ASW 28. We were able to capture the below footage from the event. Unfortunately, due to the excessive wind noise at Warracknabeal, we decided to produce the video without sound. Nevertheless,

April 02, 2013 94Here is a review that will win over the hearts of scale RC fans. Chuck T. Seeker took his ParkZone SE5a for another flight and was able to put together a video review. This RC plane has high historic value. The original SE5a was a legendary plane of the World War I era, flown by aces from America and Britain. Interestingly, the ParkZone SE5a also has great historical value for Chuck. He first maidened this plane 20 months ago in July 2011 and in this demo film, Chuck revisits this classic model. The Gratton Field in Calvert, Queensland came alive last weekend. The Spektrum Gratton Airshow was held from February 14 to 17 and Modelflight was really pleased to be involved in this fantastic event. 108 modellers from across Australia participated in the competitions at Gratton, and they were watched by an estimated 2,200 spectators who attended the event over the course of 4 days. We had several of our team members at Gratton, including our Managing Director, Mike O'Reilly (pictured above). There were a wide range of modelling activities at the Airshow, including scale competitions, racing, discus launch and aero tow demonstrations. If that wasn't enough, Gratton was pleased to host two Very Important Pilots from Team Horizon - Ali Machinksy (below left) and Mike McConville (below right).

January 31, 2013 117Aerobatic pilots, this one's for you. The Carbon Z Splendor from E-Flite is a fantastic new RC plane that we were lucky enough to preview earlier this week. The Splendor was designed by F3A World Aerobatic Champion Quique Somenzini. Somenzini ensured that this RC plane offered everything you need to perform incredible precision flying. The Carbon Z Splendor is constructed from a Carbon-Z wing and fuselage structure. Putting this plane is very straightforward, thanks to E-Flite's simple bolt-on assembly. Just make sure you have enough room for
