November 22, 2013 15A fun night of indoor flying was held last night at ETSA Stadium, Adelaide. There were around 30 pilots and spectators in attendance and, once again, a variety of models were on show. Of particular interest was the new Blade 180QX. This RC quadcopter was very stable in the air, thanks to the included SAFE Technology. Similar to the 350 QX, this quadcopter comes with an on-board camera, which certainly came in handy last night, as we were able to capture some great footage from the sky. If you haven't already seen this footage (along with the other video highlights we captured), check out our video below: As you can see, the 180 QX is very smooth in the air and was able to film all the action of the event. If you are looking for an

November 12, 2013 35Whilst it was only a handful of eager beavers who played on the highly polished floor under the lights, never-the-less, a good time was had by all and few would complain of the number of flights that they enjoyed. It was a bumper night for Mike O'Reilly for he endured lots of time setting up a couple of new and exciting models at no expense to any other fliers. His efforts were much appreciated. My first pic shows the latest import at Model Flight with the highly attractive UMX SBach 342 3D to give it its full title which is almost larger than the micro model. Like most of the micros being imported into our country these days it is quite quick but delightfully steady in flight. Well - it was when in Mike's hands and as it was the first of its kind in the country at that time, I don't recall seeing anyone else

October 18, 2013 28ETSA Stadium once again played host to RC pilots and spectators last night at Adelaide's October 2013 indoor flying event. It was a good showing, with around 25 people in attendance (plus an additional 25 netball players who were meant to be practicing on the other court, but seemed to be distracted by the flying activity). A wide variety of RC models were on display at the event, with a great representation from increasingly-popular RC quadcopters. Several Blade mQXs were seen darting across the stadium. With their AS3X technology, they were very stable in the air and enjoyable to watch. It was also great to see a new Blade 350QX. These remote control quadcopters have been a hit and have just arrived at Modelflight. With their SAFE Technology and GoPro camera mounts, no doubt we will be seeing more of these models at future Indoor Flying events. On

This is the first in a series of blog posts written by members of the TLR Australia team attending the 2103 IFMAR World Championships in Chico, California.
Sunday 22nd September: 2WD Registration
Its Day 1 in the IFMAR World Championships with the TLR Australia team preparing for the RC buggy competition ahead. In these blog posts, we will give you an idea of how the daily schedule works, the experience that the racers go through, and some of the fun thats had.
In this years Championships, the 2WD RC car class will be held first. Today involved the Registration and Technical inspection for all competitors (10:00am 6:00pm). Most of the day was taken up with tires, tires, and more tires. The original schedule had competitors running 9-rounds of practice and 1-round of controlled practice tomorrow, which meant that a lot of rubber needed to be glued to rims.

The upcoming arrival of the brand new Spektrum DX9 has generated much excitment among RC pilots and we were fortunate enough to get a sneak peek at this innovative transmitter. On Modelflight's YouTube channel, we recently launched a review and unboxing video of the DX9, which you can view below:
As you can see in the video, the DX9 transmitter has many cutting-edge features. The voice alert system in and of itself is without equal in RC radios. Irrespective of whether you want to use this functionality for telemetry updates

August 20, 2013 66It was a great turnout at the August indoor flying session at ETSA Park, South Australia. Pilots and spectactors flocked to see some brilliant RC plane and helicopter demonstrations, in addition to seeing some of the latest releases from Modelflight. It was an impressive line-up. Some of the new models that were on show included the new 350 QX from Blade, the Delta Ray from

June 25, 2013 56I dare say that we cannot expect, at this time of the year, any warmer weather than we're experiencing at present and this was the case for our June gathering of Indoor Fliers and, no doubt, the reason for us scratching to pay the rent at the stadium, the home of Netball S.A. where we gather to fly on the third Thursday of each Month - right throughout the year. I was pleased to hear from our leader, Michael O'Reilly of Model Flight that we did, in fact, make the necessary fee for this ultra-cold night. It turned out to be a great night for those who were keen enough to come along, no doubt like me, covered by multi-layers of woollen wear and the heaviest quality at that. My first picture, on this occasion, is an opening shot of Mike and Wayne in deep conversation
