RTF vs. BNF - What is the Difference?
You may have noticed how some products at Modelflight are listed as "RTF" and others are classified as "BNF". There is an important difference between the two. RTF is an abbreviation for "ready-to-fly". As the name suggests, RTF products come with everything you need to start flying included in the box. On the other hand, BNF stands for "Bind-N-Fly". In BNF products, the radio transmitter required to control the model is sold separately.
Modelflight has endeavoured to recommend suitable transmitters for all our BNF products. The details of these recommendations can be seen in the "What You Need" section of a product page. Once you have a suitable transmitter, all you need to do is bind (connect) it to the model and you can start flying (hence the Bind-N-Fly name). If you have any questions about this, please do not hestitate to contact us and we will be glad to assist.
