June 21, 2013 4In a previous blog post, we gave an overview of SAFE Technology in general and what its benefits are. In this post, we want to talk about how this technology is applied in the E-Flite Apprentice S 15e. The Apprentice S is an outstanding trainer plane and one of the primary reasons for its effectiveness is the use of SAFE Technology. As you may recall, SAFE allows for the creation of sensor-assisted flight envelopes

April 04, 2013 23We have seen some great BNF RC planes at Modelflight, but this one we're particuarly excited about. E-Flite have just launched the Inverza 280. This plane is the outcome of a highly-qualified, three-person design team. April 02, 2013 10Here is a review that will win over the hearts of scale RC fans. Chuck T. Seeker took his ParkZone SE5a for another flight and was able to put together a video review. This RC plane has high historic value. The original SE5a was a legendary plane of the World War I era, flown by aces from America and Britain. Interestingly, the ParkZone SE5a also has great historical value for Chuck. He first maidened this plane 20 months ago in July 2011 and in this demo film, Chuck revisits this classic model. You can watch this review video below:

February 22, 2013 12It was another fun night of indoor flying on Thursday. A crowd of pilots and spectators gathered to enjoy a variety of RC planes as they took to the air inside ETSA Stadium. Some of the models on display included the ParkZone T-28 Trojan. This brilliant scale plane's flight characteristics were just as good as its apperance. Its smooth takeoffs and landings were matched by its graceful performance in the air. As you can see in the video footage we captured on the night, the Trojan maneouvers easily, making it a great choice for intermediate-level pilots. Please note, though, that the video below shows the Ultra Micro version of the Trojan. Unfortunately, this version is

The Gratton Field in Calvert, Queensland came alive last weekend. The Spektrum Gratton Airshow was held from February 14 to 17 and Modelflight was really pleased to be involved in this fantastic event. 108 modellers from across Australia participated in the competitions at Gratton, and they were watched by an estimated 2,200 spectators who attended the event over the course of 4 days. We had several of our team members at Gratton, including our Managing Director, Mike O'Reilly (pictured above). There were a wide range of modelling activities at the Airshow, including scale competitions, racing, discus launch and aero tow demonstrations. If that wasn't enough, Gratton was pleased to host two Very Important Pilots from Team Horizon - Ali Machinksy (below left) and Mike McConville (below right).
