RC Model News

The skies above Waterloo Corner, South Australia will come alive this April for the 2015 Adelaide Golden Era Air Races. Held on April 18 and 19, the event will feature over 80 model planes from all over Australia. Modelflight is proud to be supporting this event, as we have done since its inception in 1997. In fact, some of our staff members will be participating in the races themselves! Mike will be competing in the Golden Era class with a Mew Gull and in the Reno class with a Hangar 9 P-47 Thunderbolt. Klaus is also participating in the the Formula One class.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring a ParkZone T-28 event which will be held on a shortened course at various stages throughout the weekend. The double points final race is a thrill

The Q500 Typhoon comes ready-to-fly with everything you need for aerial filming and photography. This includes a full HD CGO2-GB camera. This camera comes with a three-axis gymbal and can record 1080p, 50fps video. It also captures 12 megapixel photos. With the included ST10 transmitter, you will be able to view a 5.8GHz video downlink and first-person view (FPV) through its in-built colour screen.

The Blade 350 QX Reborn

The original Blade 350 QX was a game-changer. An easy-to-use RC quadcopter that could accomodate a GoPro camera, the 350 QX was met with great fanfare. Today, we are thrilled to announce that the latest version of this quad is now available at Modelflight. The Blade 350 QX2 retains all the great features of its predecessor while offering a whole new level of functionality. The drone comes with the Firmware 2.0 software pre-installed. Pro Boat Creates A Star

We have always been proud of the range of boats available at Modelflight, but this new one from Pro Boat is something else entirely. The Rockstar is a massive 48-inch catamaran; a similar style to that seen in the Miss Geico and Blackjack. By far, this is the largest RC boat we have ever seen and with its 26cc gas engine, you are able to clock up speeds of up to 65km/h. Best of all, the engine comes with the R.O.S.S. starter system, so you can get the boat running in a matter of seconds with the push of a button on the included Spektrum DX2E transmitter (and stop it just as quickly when you are done).

This boat comes with a large-scale servo, which gives you over 270 oz-in of torque. And it has an appearance to match!
