INDOOR FLYING IN MAY
We had a reasonable number of fliers attend our meeting for May and, as usual Mike arrived with some new models with the emphasis on an electronic marvel of modern day inventions. My first pix is of the "receiver" which is mounted on his DX9 Transmitter and it receives pictures from the camera on his Drone or Quad. I think that you will agree with my name of "The Spider" when looking at the next shot of the quad in flight.

The camera is mounted just behind the little yellow square and the quality of the reception was magnificent.

We welcomed a very happy young gentleman, Mark, who must have been enjoying himself because of the smile that seemed to be an added or permanent

New South Wales RC Plane Events

Fire up your engines, ladies and gentlemen. The annual Jet Action invitational will be held from Friday 29 May to Sunday 31 May 2015. It will be hosted by Adelaide Model Aerosport at the AMA Model Airport (Princes Highway, Monarto). Modelflight is proud to be supporting this event (one of our team members will be flying at Jet Action) and we would encourage you all to come along. It will feature a wide range of turbine and ducted fan scale and sport jets from all across Australia. One of the key drawcards of the event is the Night Fly Bonanza on Friday evening, which showcases a range of LED-equipped foam planes and RC helicopters. If you are interested to learn more, check out some of the information packages shown below. We look forward to seeing you there!

New South Wales RC Plane Events

Whilst I am not providing captions for this month's pictures (most are self-explanatory) I will say that i am leading off with a picky of Hamish Scott. These days he is fairly busy at work and his appearances at Indoor are getting to be quite rare. So it was with much pleasure and excitement that he, once again, entertained us with his brilliant heli flying.

Do you know, dear readers, age, and I am speaking of senior years, make it a little difficult to follow Hamish's model movement as they are  so rapid and precise. Thank you once again Hamish. It was pleasing to see that you also had time to speak to a couple of our recent flying visitors to ETSA.

The boys of "Crack Corner" being J.J., Michael Holmes, John Roxborough and Chappie were up to their usual tricks, demonstrating their enormous ability yet

New South Wales RC Plane Events

It was a huge weekend for Modelflight, making our first appearance at the V8 Supercars Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia. As a proud sponsor of the Brad Gallard #454 race team, we worked in conjunction with Toyo Tires to run a “come and try” race event at their R/C Arena. Clipsal 500 attendees (in addition to some special guests), were able to drive RC trucks from Traxxas across a custom-built clay track. The trucks featured at the event were the Traxxas Slash VXL and the Dakar Edition Slash.

INDOOR AT ETSA PARK IN FEBRUARY 2015

To my dear flying friends...do you find me appealing? Well I am appealing to you all once again, although not quite as seriously as I was last month. Mike O'Reilly and I, your humble scribe find that we have to push, push in an effort to get all our friends back to ETSA Park. You would have more about which to complain if you were in a Maternity Ward - I only asked you to push twice.  You all know, as well as I that we are most fortunate to have our flying facility.  We had some Interstate visitors join us for a while this month and they had nothing but praise for our good fortune in having our magnificent venue - a venue that does cost us a considerable sum to visit each month.  We must keep our numbers up to maintain our payments and, whilst Model Flight, through its General Manager, Mike O'Reilly, has been picking up the shortfall often, I think the time may arise when they might have to withdraw their help. New South Wales RC Plane Events

We are thrilled to announce that Modelflight will be making an appearance at this year's Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia. As some of you may be aware, this year's Clipsal event will be hosting the Stadium Super Trucks (SST); the first time this racing series has been held outside of North America. These 600 horsepower V8 trucks are a sight to behold and while we cannot promise you a chance to drive one of these beasts, we can offer you a smaller-scale experience at this year's event! In conjunction with Toyo Tires Australia and Gallard #454 Motorsport, Modelflight will be assisting at the Attack The Dirt R/C Arena. This is your chance to drive a remote control Stadium Super Truck across a race track that features jumps, whoops and banked corners.
