September 27, 2012 25For all those who were able to attend Indoor Flying in September, you shared with all in attendance a most interesting and exciting evening, To really commence at the beginning, I must mention our latest import and his input, thanks to Model Flight. The name Chris Brislin would not mean a great deal to most people who reside over the border in S.A. but to American residents of Tucson, Arizona, a large number of them would realize that Chris flew himself, not only into American history, but into World history by gaining a podium finish in the Tucson Shootout competitions. Yes dear friends, if you look at my first picture of Chris, please realize that you are looking at, and those who fly at future Indoor Meets at ETSA Park are flying with, the aerobatic model flier who is in the top few

July 09, 2012 215Thanks to 'Chuck Thrillseeker' for taking the time to share his review and maiden flight of the new E-flite UMX Mig 15 DF Jet with us! E-flite have been producing some awesome UMX RC Planes and the RC Mig 15 is no exception Over to Chuck with his thoughts... "At last they have arrived & i was straight to the shop to pick mine up, Yes! the new E-Flite UMX Mig-15 DF is all they said and more. It is a beautiful scale Jet and i am just busting to get this plane in the air" "At last i get to fly the new UMX Mig-15 and it wasn't a disappointment, this plane rocks. June 21, 2012 82No! I am not able to give a reason for so many mid-airs on this night. It was by no means our largest number of fliers and it would be impossible to pin-point whether it was more frequent among the Micro models or the larger Foamies for it was spread fairly evenly among all aircraft. They did happen and it was a shame for those involved and the ensuing work that would be necessary for their repair. A lot of interest was shown in Mike OReillys micro jet Mig. (Please see my first picture above.) It was an attractive little aircraft to say the least and with no external propeller, its lines were particularly clean. Some of our friends had seen this little whiz ship in action at Monartos Jet Day and they expected it to be a real racer. I doubt that anyone there was not looking on with, perhaps, mouth open when it literally screamed across the floor for take-off,

With the UMX Carbon Cub SS, you get the convenience to fly inside a large gym or backyard but don't let its size fool you its on-board AS3X® System makes this ultra micro model feel smooth and solid like a giant-scale model even outdoors in moderate wind. April 18, 2012 57A few weeks back, Chuck decided he could not wait on the arrival of the E-flite Gee Bee R2 any longer, he drove off to OMP, the Australia distributer of all things E-flite, to see the shipment arrive in the warehouse. He then visited the Modelflight retail shop in Goodwood to pick up his plane. He also didn't neglect to let us see this little baby in action! Here are his comments and the video of the E-flite Gee Bee in action! "well here is a video i took a few weeks back, been busy so only just got round to editing it. It's the

April 01, 2012 30At our last indoor flying session in Adelaide we tried to do an Aero-tow, but unfortunately, our stadiums are not high enough or long enough, so we didn't have too much luck. The RC Glider could not get above the carbon cub in the short flying area we had, but hey! we gave it a go and the last try we did get a take of and a release. Next time we will try it outside with plenty of space, still worth a look though if your craving the new E-flite UMX Aero-tow combo. Watch Mike and Hamish's attempt here:

If flying numbers meant anything so early in the year, then we are in for a bumper crop which is, ofcourse, good news for The Southern Flying League, for we may help them purchase some items that they, perhaps, otherwise may not. Might I even venture to add that our name may even appear on a panel of their new extention to their clubrooms at Milang? Well done SSL.

January 11, 2012 59By John Redman, Horizon Hobby Gee Bees competed in all the popular airplane races of the Golden Era of aviation. These highly engineered, teardrop-shaped, super planes required a skillful hand and perfect circumstances, but with the right pilot, they ruled the speed course. The UMX Gee Bee®R2 is yours to groove through the skies just about anywhere because it features specially tuned handling more in common with a Sunday sport model than a short-coupled engine with wings. The awe-inspiring UMX Gee Bee R2 replica offers handling so remarkably smooth, youll want to fly this authentically scaled model every day. Its built-in, specially tuned, AS3X System invisibly helps you enjoy the kind of silky handling and outstanding control you always wanted from a conveniently-sized RC model, but never thought possible before now. We met with David Payne in studio to discuss the new E-flite Gee Bee R-2. We discussed some of the history he learned visiting the Fantasy of Flight Museum
