Horizon Hobby have started off 2023 right with some exciting new products from Losi, E-flite and Axial. A couple of updated and upgraded favourites as well as something new to the market, let's take a look at these new releases.

Mini No Prep Drag Car from Losi

LOS01023T1: Blue | LOS01023T2: Black

Losi Mini No Prep Drag Car

The first product announcement of the year was from Losi with the 1970 Chevelle Mini No Prep Drag Car. This sleek RC drag car comes with an officially licensed black or metallic blue body shell that features incredible scale details for a mini RC car. Because it’s based on the Mini 22 platform, a lot of the parts are cross-compatible with the Losi Mini T and Mini B RC cars. Under the body, it has officially licensed Mickey Thompson front and rear tyres, an adjustable wheelie bar, Spektrum 2-in-1 brushless system, a Dynamite 800mAh 2S LiPo battery, Spektrum SLR300 receiver, SX107 steering servo with a servo saver and has multiple suspension tuning options to optimise your setup for specific track conditions.

In the box, you get everything you need to get racing including a Spektrum SLT2 transmitter and AA batteries as well as optional rear toe blocks and tools. Whether you’re an experienced RC drag racer or new to the hobby, the Losi 1970 Chevelle Mini No Prep Drag Car is a more affordable entry point to enjoy drag racing.

EFL089500: Bind-N-Fly Basic | EFL08975: Plug-N-Play

E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.2m

This updated version of the popular and iconic P-51D Mustang 1.2m RC warbird has been upgraded with Spektrum Smart electronics and a ‘Cripes A’Mighty 3rd' scheme. The scale replica of the legendary U.S. Army Air Corps fighter has appealing scale details and delivers an experience to make flying history's most famous fighter more enjoyable than ever. Capable of scale-like, high-speed, sport and aerobatic flying, this RC warbird features a Spektrum brushless outrunner motor and Spektrum Avian 70A Smart ESC that is compatible with 3S-4S 2200–3200mah LiPo batteries. With a Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitter and compatible receiver (like the Spektrum AR631 6-channel receiver included in the Bind-N-Fly Basic version), the Spektrum Smart ESC will provide real-time telemetry data including battery voltage, current motor RPM, plus more. The P-51D Mustang 1.2m is a convenient size, but its glue-less assembly and a one-piece wing make it easy to transport and store if you’re needing to disassemble it.

Axial AX24 XC-1 Mini Rock Crawler

AXI00003T1: Green | AXI00003T2: Orange

Axial AX24 XC-1 RC Crawler

In 2007, Axial changed the extreme RC crawling game with the release of the AX10. If you’re a fan of the AX10, you’ll love how the new AX24 XC-1 1/24 RC Crawler pays homage to the rig with a replica body, livery and Rock Lizard tyres with Rockstar wheels. With 4-wheel steering and three steering modes – mirrored rear tyre input, no rear tyre input and ’crab crawl’ - you can manoeuvre over and around almost anything, unlike other 1/24 scale rigs. It comes fully assembled with an AS-1 servo, Dynamite 88T brushed motor, Dynamite 350mAh 2S battery and a Spektrum 2-in-1 ESC/Receiver combo installed and with a Spektrum SLT3 transmitter. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced RC rock crawling enthusiast, you’ll love the capability of this mini crawler.

EFL013550: Bind-N-Fly Basic | EFL013575: Plug-N-Play

E-flite Carbon-Z T-28 Trojan 2.0

It has been updated and upgraded with Smart electronics, a more visible trim scheme, LED lights as well as more reliable and durable retracts to make it the Smarter and easy-to-fly large-scale T-28! Its legendary flight performance means it can be flown by low-time pilots who have experience with smaller warbirds, while also offering the most demanding pilots plenty of capability. The upgraded power system features a Spektrum Avian Smart Lite 70A ESC that can provide telemetry data in real time via a compatible receiver and Spektrum AirWare transmitter. The Bind-N-Fly version of this RC warbird includes a compatible receiver (Spektrum AR637TA) already. The Spektrum brushless outrunner motor can be paired with 6S 3200-7000mah batteries, depending on your preferences of weight, balance and flight time.
