Featuring a Spektrum 70-amp Avian Smart Lite ESC the factory-installed brushless power system has a specially tuned motor and a thrust-abundant 4-blade prop if you have a 3S LiPo battery attached. Put in a 4S battery and your speed goes up and you have unlimited vertical performance plus you don’t need to make any upgrades or modifications to have either battery fitted. Providing a variety of real-time telemetry data the Avian Smart Lite ESC lets the pilot know the current motor RPM, battery voltage, and current plus more whether you have a Smart or non-Smart battery fitted. You will need compatible receivers including the Spektrum AR631 (fitted in the BNF Basic version) plus Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters. These include - the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20, and others. 

Helping make the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.2m easier to fly is exclusive Spektrum technology - AS3X and the optional use of SAFE Select. AS3X is a behind-the-scenes technology that makes hundreds of small corrections to help smooth out the effects of turbulence and wind and deliver a locked-in feel that you would normally associate with a much larger RC plane. If you engage the optional use SAFE Select with the flick of a switch you will turn on bank and pitch angle limits and automatic self-levelling if you get into trouble. If you’re confident enough not to use SAFE Select you can turn it off and only AS3X will be active while you’re flying.

One of the best features is the glue-less assembly. You can put together your E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.2m in no time. The 1.2m size makes it perfect to transport and store without needing to disassemble. Alternatively, you can remove the one-piece wing and reinstall it easily when you get to the field.
