To improve the race-winning pedigree of the LMT, Losi’s development team has focussed on elevating the overall performance level to ensure racers have the best chance of getting a podium.

The Losi TLR Tuned LMT Kit checks off all the boxes with upgraded top-of-the-line TLR option parts ensuring that those who race have the highest performing LMT available, and, those who are enthusiasts have access to an LMT that looks good AND performs like a race-bred beast! 

Drawing on the vast experience and expertise of the TLR brand the enhancements to the LMT platform start with the carbon fibre chassis plates that are designed specifically with racing in mind. With a lower centre of gravity and a shorter stance, the carbon fibre chassis plates allow for both reduced weight, and, more mounting options for body shells once the RC kit has been assembled. The hard anodized and machined aluminium 12mm shock bodies and caps are identical to TLR’s and the threaded shock bodies allow you to make ride height adjustments very quickly. The machined shock guides and shock pistons on the TLR Tuned LMT Monster Truck kit increase the feel of precision and lower friction while the new spring rates increase its ability to land big jumps and handle challenging terrain. The suspension can be tuned for optimal performance according to the surface you’ll be racing on.  

The strengthened aluminium upgrades on the TLR Tuned LMT Monster Truck kit include rear toe blocks, 4-links, front spindles and carriers, and, cross bars. The durability of the front spindles and carriers is crucial in high-impact situations and the high-quality machining enhances steering consistency and precision. To further support the TLR Tuned LMT kit from impact larger bearings are also used to help cope with the rigours of racing. This is also the case with the aluminium rear toe blocks that also have a larger bearing to add strength when supporting the axle in challenging race conditions. 

More predictable cornering, a flatter truck and greater stability are the key benefits generated by the new design that allows the shock to be mounted on the 4-link bars rather than the axle. To minimize twist or flex there are aluminium cross bars that provide additional rigidity and strength between the chassis plate that give the driver more consistent performance. 

The new battery tray is now lower to improve the centre of gravity and can also take ‘shorty’ race packs that allow the battery to be mounted much lower on the track and improve the power-to-weight ratio. This helps with improved performance and increases cornering ability. Looking and feeling like part of a full-scale monster truck is the wheelie bump which is a rear chassis bumper that also includes a flag mounting boss. In a further TLR-inspired development the wheelbase has also been made 1.5 inches longer in order to increase stability while cornering at speed and on tough terrain.    

The TLR Tuned LMT kit also allows for complete customisation as far as electronics go with those in your existing LMT truck able to be transferred over rather than having to buy new ones. As a limited release, the Losi TLR Tuned LMT kit is one you are going to have to get onto quickly. Once the initial quantity is sold that’s it. No more will be produced.
