Product Information
In 2020, Losi released the LMT monster truck and the performance bar was set immediately higher for RC monster trucks. Losi have now released the LMT 2.0, and the RC monster truck scene has been put on notice! If you're a monster truck racer, you are going to want to get your hands on one of these, or you'll have to get used to seeing their back ends. If you're a hobbyist, then take one of these home and tackle everything in your path.
Spektrum DRIVE Technology – DRIVE it to Believe it!
Dynamic Response Intelligent Vehicle Envelope (DRIVE) technology is something you are going to hear a lot about. Spektrum have developed a new 6-channel receiver that includes DRIVE technology, which is included in the LMT 2.0. Spektrum uses DRIVE technology to deliver three pre-programmed drive modes that you can change between, while driving, by flicking the A/B rocker switch on your DX3 transmitter with your thumb.
The three pre-programmed drive modes are:
-
Freestyle Mode — enables you to do stoppies, hold wheelies and bicycle on two wheels like full-size Monster Jam trucks, giving you a realistic experience of what it’s like to be a monster truck driver.
-
Wheelie Mode — if pulling wheelies is your thing, this mode will offer you optimum electronic support to keep your front wheels in the air.
-
Unlimited Mode — this mode basically means you are on your own to drive your LMT 2.0 without any electronic assistance and have full control
Eight Shocks for Improved Performance and Monster Jam Realism
Just like full-size monster trucks, the Losi LMT 2.0 has eight shocks, increasing durability and performance. For updated scale realism, the springs that used to be wrapped outside of the shock bodies have now been made internal. There is no loss of performance by doing this, and it is in keeping with what full-size monster trucks have. To add even more scale detail, new moulded replica reservoirs are featured.
The addition of a larger cup for increased fluid capacity and cross-pin blocks on the new HD differentials provides improved durability and strength. The three HD differentials are filled with 1 million weight diff fluid. The centre diff allows for tuning and includes torque-dampening Cush Drive for added protection. The Cush Drive system is made from rubber elastomer, which absorbs the force from high impacts to protect the motor and provide a level of protection for the drivetrain from hard landings, increasing the component longevity and maintaining the reliability.
Powerful Spektrum Electronics
The power system on the LMT 2.0 is 2S to 4S LiPo capable and provides superb torque and an impressive top speed. At its core is a Spektrum 2800Kv 3668 brushless motor and a 130A Spektrum ESC. If you strap in a 4S LiPo, you can get your LMT 2.0 up to speeds of 72+ km/h. To assist with the management of all that power, the LMT 2.0 is also equipped with a Spektrum metal top, steel gear, S680 high torque steering servo, which is equipped with a dual step, innovative helical design servo saver. The dual step saver works to negate the effects of hard landings or sudden jolts on your steering and keeps you tracking straight. The traditional coil spring has been replaced by Belleville springs to give your steering a more accurate and precise feel.
Powder-coated aluminium chassis plates
Knowing the punishment that you and other drivers will put the Losi LMT 2.0 through, many elements on this RC monster truck help provide durability and strength. The twin vertical chassis plate design features 6061-T6 aluminium, powder-coated with green on the Grave Digger and blue powder coating on the Son-uva Digger. There is also a redesigned two-piece axle housing with new, lower 4-link mounts and larger pinion bearings at 6x15x5 mm.
Officially Licensed BKT Tyres
The LMT 2.0 has a larger overall footprint and size compared to the first-generation LMT monster truck, with 2.6” wheels fitted with slightly taller and wider offset tyres plus longer 4-link bars. The replica beadlock on the wheel can be removed, or you can put your customised paint job on it to enhance its visual presence. The officially licensed BKT tyres have accurate sidewall and logo details, while the tread pattern is in keeping with full-scale BKT tyres and has a less aggressive tread pattern that provides better handling across a wider range of surfaces.
Officially Licensed by Monster Jam and Feld Motorsports
For easier battery access and added convenience, the LMT 2.0 flip-top cage now flips forward and then secures to the chassis with a simple twist lock. The factory finished body options on both Monster Trucks – Grave Digger (LOS04028T1) or Son-uva Digger (LOS04028T2) – both include enhancing scale details like LED headlights, a driver figure, exhaust headers and credible lower chassis sponsor plates that give the LMT 2.0 a genuine feel. Each LMT 2.0 model type is officially licensed by Feld Motorsports and Monster Jam, respectively.
The Next Level Losi Monster Truck
You only need to supply your charger and battery, and your Losi LMT 2.0 Monster Truck is ready to run. The DX3 transmitter from Spektrum is included and is perfect for either beginners or experienced RC monster truck drivers. If you're going to let the kids have a drive, or if you are just starting your RC journey, you can limit the top speed to 50% or 75%. Once you are confident, you can unleash the beast and pin it at 100%. If you install a Smart battery, your DX3 transmitter will show you exactly how much charge you have left on the battery voltage indicator in real time. If your voltage is getting low, then an alarm will sound and you can drive it back in, pop a fully charged battery in and then continue to unleash hell on your track of choice!
