E-Flite Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m STOL RC Plane, BNF Basic, EFL013850

When the original Night Timber X 1.2m was released, it featured some distinct characteristics that made this RC plane great – advanced STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing), 3D aerobatic capabilities, and LED lights arrayed throughout the airframe for realistic night flying. The upgraded and updated E-flite Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m has all those attributes plus the most requested features – stronger main landing gear mounts and heavy-duty springs, top-mounted battery hatch for faster and easier changeovers, and combined connectors enabling simpler wing installation and dismantling. This Timber X Evolution has evolved to become a great choice for intermediate to experienced pilots looking for an excellent blend of functionality and performance. 

'Mild to Wild' with the Night Timber X Evolution  

Compared to the Timber 1.5m, the wing design on the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m has a shortened span, but has larger flaps and ailerons as well as an enlarged rudder and elevator. Every control surface on the Evolution can be deflected due to the double-bevelled hinge lines. That includes the flaps that can travel in both directions, which translates to superb control and maximum 3D aerobatic capability. Alternatively, if you'd like to take a walk on the mild side, you can lower the rates so the controls can be docile and smooth. Both flying extremes are at your fingertips!

The brushless power system on the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m comes factory installed and features a 70-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. This works in conjunction with a specially tuned motor and prop that, when fitted with a 3S LiPo battery, delivers more thrust than you need. You can also fit in a 4S LiPo battery without having to make upgrades and modifications, and then you're in the world of unlimited vertical performance with power to burn. To get you back in the air quicker, there has been a convenient top hatch installed on the Night Timber X Evolution with a larger battery compartment that will easily fit batteries in the 3S 2200mAh to 4S 3200mAh range depending on what type of flight you'd like to have.  

There is also a factory installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver in the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m that features AS3X+ and optional use SAFE Select technologies. With the AR631+ you can receive real-time telemetry data including current, overall battery voltage plus more when you use a compatible transmitter. You can do this using Smart or non-Smart batteries, plus you can also access motor/thrust reversing when manoeuvring on the ground, as well as some other capabilities. 

Fly Day or Night with the Extra LED Lights! 

Your Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m comes fitted with navigation, landing and strobe LEDs as standard. It also includes integrated high-visibility LED lights fitted throughout the airframe making night flying that much easier! These LED lights are powered by the flight LiPo battery and you can easily disconnect them to save battery life when flying in the daylight.

Durable Construction and Versatile Gear Options 

Composite reinforced hollow-core EPO construction results in a strong but lightweight airframe on your Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m. This means your RC plane can handle everything from extreme aerobatics down to STOL manoeuvres and slow flying. There are leading-edge slats included that will improve your slow flight performance even further. 

Most models of this size can't handle the many and varied surfaces that your Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m will. Dirt trails, thick grass, gravel paths, local creeks, lakes and ponds (with the floats installed that are sold separately) are all made possible with the inclusion of some key upgrades. Now it features even stronger reinforced mounts in the fuselage, as well as landing gear with heavier duty springs for shock absorption, similar to those installed on the Twin Timber 1.6m, while the oversized tundra style wheels and tyres give you excellent prop clearance. The floats that you can purchase separately also feature dual water rudders for excellent steering control. Whether you stick to landing on the ground or in the water both options are easily catered for with installation and removal only taking minutes to implement. 

Assembly is Easy – No Glue Required! 

The Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m is a no glue assembly aircraft. Those parts that do require some assembly can be easily bolted into place. The wing comes in two pieces with combined LED and servo connectors plus it's easier to store and transport when taking it out somewhere for a spin. 

Skill Level 2: Designed for Intermediate RC Pilots 

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.2m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m BNF Basic version.
