E-Flite Twin Timber 1.6m STOL RC Plane, BNF Basic, EFL23850

Billed as the most durable, stable, capable and unique Timber yet the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m could never be described as 'just another Timber'. There are popular features that have become synonymous with the Timbers and they are all included in this new one – functional flaps, optional-use leading edge slats, oversized tundra-style wheels on shock-absorbing landing gear, and a factory-installed LED lighting system with navigation, strobe and landing lights. For fast and easy battery changes the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m features a large top hatch with access to the battery compartment. To help you cope with the tough landings the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m is capable of the strongest landing gear ever installed on a Timber improves the STOL capability immensely. 

Different to every Timber RC plane that comes before it

One of the main features of the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m is the factory-installed twin brushless power system. It is equipped with a Spektrum 40 amp Avian Dual Smart ESC and specially tuned motors that when attached to a 3S LiPo give you an abundance of thrust. You can also hook up a 4S LiPo for unlimited vertical performance and more speed without the need to upgrade or modify. Because the motors are wing mounted you'd have to be trying incredibly hard to break the counter-rotating props or motors if you ever hit the deck nose first. 

Exclusive Spektrum Technologies

The Avian 40-amp Dual Smart ESC from Spektrum provides the pilot with a number of real-time power system telemetry data including ESC temperature, battery voltage levels and more with either Smart or non-Smart batteries. You will need a compatible receiver like the Spektrum AR637TA installed in the BNF Basic version of the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m plus Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters that include - DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20, and others. There is improved ground handling from the reversing and differential thrust which also adds to the ease of takeoffs, landings and taxiing plus the ability to be able to perform special aerobatic maneuvers.  

The BNF Basic version of the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m comes equipped with exclusive Spektrum SAFE Select and AS3X technologies. Optional use SAFE Select provides automatic self-levelling if you get into trouble and pitch and bank angle flight envelope protection all of which can be turned off with the flick of a switch once you feel confident in your own abilities. AS3X technology works behind the scenes making hundreds of tiny adjustments to deliver a locked-in feel and smooth out the effects of turbulence and wind.   

The large 2-piece wing on the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m provides great stability and also houses the oversized control surfaces that have flaps that will travel both ways giving pilots Timber X model-like capabilities that include full-span ailerons as an option. Dismantling/constructing the wing is easy due to combined connectors and specially designed clip in the fuselage that holds the wing joiner until the next time you go flying. The wings on the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m also provide excellent clearance if you choose to install the optional floats (sold separately) but are also compatible with other Timber models so you may have a set already.  

Overall the E-flite Twin Timber 1.6m RC plane is suited to a wide range of pilots and is an excellent choice for a first twin-powered, STOL capable, everyday sport and aerobatic flying model!
