The First Large-Scale Deep-V RC Boat with Self-Righting Capabilities

On top of super performance and blistering speed, the large-scale, deep-V Super Sonicwake 48” RTR from Pro Boat achieves a few historical ‘firsts’. Being the first boat of this size in RC history to have self-righting capabilities is a result of great engineering, and a need to reduce worry in the driver. With this much power and speed at your fingertips, it is comforting to know that if you flip the boat a fair way from shore, it quickly recovers on its own, and you are on your way again. Another first for Pro Boat is the introduction of underwater LEDs that will enhance the sublime looks of this 1.22m speedster.

High-Performance Pedigree

Tracing its origins back to the most popular model in the Pro Boat lineup, the Sonicwake 36”, means that the incredibly powerful performance of the Super Sonicwake 48” RTR carries with it a proven high-performance deep-V pedigree just on a much bigger scale. Giving you top speeds of 80+km/h is a high-powered Spektrum brushless system with a 950Kv 4685 4-Pole brushless marine motor and a 160A Firma Smart brushless ESC. To maintain safe operating temperatures, the Super Sonicwake 48” RTR has independent water-cooling systems for the ESC and motor.

Easy and Efficient Battery Changes

To facilitate quick LiPo battery changes, Pro Boat has installed the Strap, Slide, Lock (SSL) battery installation system. This enables you to mount your batteries on a tray outside the boat without having to bend over and work in a confined space. Once your LiPo is strapped in, you simply slide the tray into place and the batteries are slotted into the connector. A second tray is also included so you can have your backup battery strapped in and ready to go when a quick changeover is required.

Designed for Durability and Ease of Use

There are many features on the Super Sonicwake 48” RTR that make it easy to maintain and simple to operate. To avoid your day on the water coming to a screaming halt if/when you make contact with something solid under the surface, a breakaway rudder is featured on this boat. On contact with a solid object, the rudder rotates up which decreases your chance of any hardware or hull damage. The tough and durable ABS-constructed hull can handle rough water and the impact of big jumps. Attaching the canopy is made simple with ¼ turn latches for quick and easy installation and removal without the risk of screws being stripped. 

Mess-Free Greasing System

Getting the amount of grease on the flex shaft balance right can be difficult. Many err on the side of too much which makes a mess inside your hull. With the Super Sonicwake 48” RTR, Pro Boat has installed a grease catch that captures any excess within a confined area until you can remove it. 

Easy Prop Strut Maintenance

Greasing the prop strut on your Super Sonicwake 48” RTR is quick and easy as the completely free-floating bushing lets you apply by simply removing a screw. The grease will then flow through the prop strut and stuffing tube, where the bushing has holes that will keep the grease in all the right places. 

Stunning Appearance on the Water

The graphics and livery decals on the Super Sonicwake 48” RTR are in the same vein as those on the smaller Sonicwake and look fantastic on the water. Adding to the on-water appeal are transom-mounted LEDs which emit splashes of light that illuminate the wake created as the Pro Boat Sonicwake 48" is cruising along.

Spektrum Control and Smart Technology

Because of its size and speed, you are strongly advised to launch your Super Sonicwake 48” RTR in a larger pond or lake. To keep this waterborne speed demon under control, you get a DX3 Spektrum transmitter paired with a Spektrum SR315 receiver that will ensure you are always in range and signal reliability remains high. Smart technology built into the Spektrum transmitter means the onboard battery power level indicator will always signal you when to turn and head for home to avoid getting stranded. 

One of the more novel ways to enjoy your Super Sonicwake 48” RTR is to take it out on a full-scale boat where you can enjoy the best of both boating worlds!
