Hangar 9’s Cub Crafters XCub RC Plane
The new Hangar 9 XCub design is the strongest, fastest, most capable and best-equipped STOL RC scale plane Cub Crafters has been associated with. This timeless classic has been replicated with the best in modern comfort and technology in order to give you as close as possible to the full-scale XCub experience. Hangar 9 has brought the Cub Crafters XCub to life with the express intent of giving RC plane pilots a full-scale flying experience without needing the full-scale expertise to appreciate the performance capabilities of this aviation classic.
As the first officially licensed replica of the Cub Crafters XCub, Hangar 9 worked closely with them and used factory drawings of the full-scale version to relay the much-loved benefits of the full-scale version into an RC plane that would do the XCub justice. The development of the Hangar 9 XCub was undertaken with a close examination of every element of the Cub Crafter version in a successful attempt to give the modeller every chance of enjoying those coveted features of the full-scale form.
The Hangar 9 XCub at 30% size of the full-scale version is still big by RC plane standards. What this 60cc ARF RC plane delivers to the flyer is an easy to complete aircraft that handles with all the precision and control of a much smaller flyer. With a laser cut, all wood construction the Hangar 9 XCub will cause a few double takes as people will appreciate the rugged scale features that resemble the full-scale version down to a tee.
Upon closer inspection, the realistic and practical cockpit interior along with the authentic XCub outline combine well with the genuine Cub Crafters debut colours brought to life through the lustrous UltraCote exterior finish. You’ll also get scale features like the airfoil-shape wing struts, tail wires, tundra-style tail wheel and operational LED lighting to complete the authentic finish.
Impeccable design
Hangar 9 have toiled hard on the XCub to make it a pleasure for flyers to work on. Under the fibreglass cowling, you can conceal a powerful fuel engine like the simple to use Evolution 62GX (sold separately). If you choose to fly electric you can access the battery bay through locking side cockpit doors. The plug-in, two-piece wing design and folding struts make the XCub easy to store and transport.
The ailerons and flaps feature a factory installed composite hinge that uses a removable metal pin. This helps deliver to the pilot a true and constant flying experience along with ease of functionality. The complete hardware packing includes all you’ll need for an electric or engine power installation and a majority of the assembly is undertaken through a simple bolt together process.
Short Take-Off and Landing
The XCub 60cc RC plane has STOL design features to enhance your acceleration and speed through a streamlined landing gear so you look like you’ve been flying giant scale planes for years. Improved stability at higher speeds can be achieved through the XCubs additional vertical fin area. In flight, performance remains high whether you are on a bit of a joy flight, or, pushing the XCub to its limits. The fully operational flaps widen your flight envelope options, as well as help, utilise the STOL design elements on takeoff and landings.
Need to get your glider up to altitude? The Hangar 9 XCub 60cc has the power to pull, and, a high-quality metal aero tow system that is easily installed if ferrying gliders about is the order of the day.
Versatility along with classic scale lines and reliable performance make this giant scale model a great option whether you’re cruising or speed is your thing.
Gas or Electric powered - it’s your choice
