This larger, faster and more technologically advanced version of the Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm and 70mm models offers incredible handling across a wide flight envelope and speed range. Next-Level Performance from a Legendary Design

Powering your Habu is a Spektrum 6S-compatible brushless motor and a 130-amp Avian Smart ESC paired with a 12-blade fan. This fan converts this power through expert engineering and optimised ducting to bring you a tonne of thrust, speed, and a turbine-like sound without the addition of ‘cheater’ holes. Plug in a 6S 4000 to 7000 mAh LiPo battery to enjoy class-leading flight times and next-level power. 

Quick Assembly and Premium Finish

The E-flite Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF is designed for fast, hassle-free assembly with no glue required. The one-piece wing is factory finished, while the separate one-piece stabilisers and fuselage bolt together easily so you can get airborne in no time. The composite reinforced lightweight EPO airframe is factory finished in a fully painted, premium trim scheme. The plastic-capped hatch edges and opening prevent paint chipping and damage when removing/installing batteries and add to the overall durability of the Habu XS. To give the pilot precise and crisp control, eight metal-geared digital servos are factory-installed. These servos feature ball-link equipped linkages, while the control surfaces have unique captured rod hinges that also add to the superb levels of control.  

Take Off and Land with Confidence

Equipped with trailing link struts on both the nose and main gear, the Habu XS absorbs the bumps of rough surfaces with ease. Electric retracts with durable metal components, a steerable nose wheel, and wide main gear spacing ensure stable, confident ground handling. The slow-flight performance and capability have been enhanced by factory-installed flaps, which make it possible to land and take off at slower speeds over shorter distances. These capabilities make the Habu XS 80mm EDF an excellent choice for your first ‘full house’ jet model if you are moving up from an EDF with fewer features. The landing and LED navigation lights equipped on the Habu XS improve the orientation and visibility in the air. 

Advanced Spektrum Technology

The included Spektrum AR637TA+ receiver features optional-use SAFE Select and enhanced AS3X+ stabilisation technologies. Pair your model with a compatible Spektrum AirWare transmitter to unlock real-time Smart telemetry, including current draw, motor RPM, battery voltage, and more, even when using non-Smart batteries. The optional-use motor/thrust reversing can be used with a 7-8+ channel transmitter and will enable you to shorten rollouts after landing and tackle other unique ground handling challenges. 

Bind-N-Fly Completion Level

Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos, and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!  

Skill Level 2 Aircraft

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is one of the easiest-to-fly “full-house” Habu models yet, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or a first-ever EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm, or similar jet models, before attempting to fly the Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF.  

Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the Habu XS 80mm is not a suitable first-ever RC model, and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft, such as the E-flite® Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF. It’s equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology, making it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger sold separately or together in a money-saving Powerstage bundle) and is a perfect choice if you’re a new RC pilot.
