Product Information
Flat foamy models were extremely popular in the early 2000s because you could build them from scratch using foam sheets that were available in most hobby stores. Fast forward to today and the majority of foam models are fully moulded scale and sport aircraft. The irony being that very few of them can match the unique performance and capabilities of flat foam models, particularly in the arena of aerobatic 3D flying. Based on the original F3P and UMX models, the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF (Flat Foamy) 800mm is a biplane alternative to the Eratix 3D FF. The 4-Site has a shorter wingspan but more wing area, which translates to lower wing loading overall. Experienced pilots who already build and fly flat foam models will love the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF 800mm, so too will intermediate and less experienced pilots, as this RC biplane is super easy to build, easy to fly, and budget friendly.
Easy Assembly for More Time in the Air
The varied flying styles at your disposal when you get the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF 800mm is one of the big drawcards. So too is the easy assembly. Unlike other float foamy model kits, this remote control plane comes out of the box with the servos, power system and receiver installed and mostly factory assembled. Instead of having to mess around with hours of glue and tape related assembly, the 4-Site 3D FF just needs some final bolt/snap-together assembly which is easy and quick. The tough EPP airframe is lightweight and includes three reliable and precise metal-geared servos on all the control surfaces. Whether you are indoors in a big shed or gym, or outdoors, the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF 800mm is truly capable of offering intermediate to experienced pilots ‘mild to wild’ flying.
Powerful Brushless Motor and Smart Technology
The power system on the E-flite® 4-Site 3D FF 800mm features a specially tuned Spektrum brushless outrunner motor that comes factory installed. With your 3S 850-1000mAh LiPo hooked up you will get unlimited 3D and vertical performance with the thrust generated. Matched up to your brushless motor is an Avian Smart ESC also by Spektrum that will update you with real-time telemetry data including overall battery voltage use and much more. You will get this data whether you are using a Smart or non-Smart battery. It is the AR630+ receiver and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters that talk to one another and display this data on a range of compatible radios including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others.
Advanced SAFE Select and AS3X+ Technology for Smooth Flying
The BNF Basic version of the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF 800mm has exclusive SAFE Select and Spektrum AS3X+ technology installed. Optional use SAFE Select allows you to set pitch and bank angle limits and an automatic self-levelling function in case you get into trouble. These SAFE Select functions can be turned on and off with the flick of a switch depending on how confident you are feeling. AS3X+ technology is a lot more subtle but no less effective as it works behind the scenes performing hundreds of slight corrections to combat the effects of turbulence and wind. It will also provide you with a more locked-in feel that will make it feel like you're flying a much bigger aircraft. AS3X+ is active all the time and switches on as soon as you bind with the receiver. This AR630+ receiver is also loaded with a Smart Transmitter Model File that will import the iX and NX series transmitter settings during the binding process. This makes it even easier to get airborne.
Skill Level 2: Is the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF 800mm Right for You?
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots with the experience and skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. Although the 4-Site 3D FF is easier to assemble and fly than other flat foamy models, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or a first-ever aerobatic/3D model for low-time RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly aerobatic models like the E-flite UMX Ultrix, UMX Timber X, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Sportix 1.1m, Timber X 1.2m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the 4-Site 3D FF BNF Basic version.
Fly Indoors or Outdoors with Unlimited 3D Aerobatic Potential
With a flight profile that ranges from smooth sport and slow flying right up to aggressive 3D aerobatics the E-flite 4-Site 3D FF 800mm is versatile enough to be flown indoors or taken to the local park for unlimited vertical fun. Easy to assemble, store and transport and now easier to fly, this versatile Biplane would be a great addition!
