After the most requests in E-flite history, it can be safely said that they have delivered! Combining the unique capabilities of its bigger brother, the Timber X 1.2m, the UMX Timber X brings the same capabilities and convenience and adds a bit more affordability to this fly almost anywhere aerobatic 3D performer. The power of the 3S compatible brushless outrunner motor on this UMX Timber X far outstrips that of the UMX Timber’s that have come before it. The wing has larger ailerons, shortened span plus an enlarged rudder and an elevator. From docile and smooth to edge-of-your-seat 3D capability the UMX Timber X is mild or wild in style. You can also use the full-span ailerons as flaperons to improve STOL and slow flight performance. Along with a lightweight design and the high-power motor these wing features can help you pop into the air off a short run or land on a ten-cent piece better than any other similar model on the market.

Flying your E-flite UMX Timber X has never been easier with exclusive Spektrum AS3X and SAFE Select technology on board. Working behind the scenes AS3X delivers a locked-in feel by helping to negate the effects of turbulence and wind so you’ll feel like you are in control of a large RC plane instead. SAFE Select is a pilot optional use technology that is built into the receiver and sets parameters to your flight envelope with automatic self-levelling if you lose control mid-air, and, places pitch and bank angle limits. You can easily program which switch on your transmitter can engage SAFE Select. If you’re feeling confident that your flying skills have improved you can then switch SAFE Select off with the switch of your choosing. The flight controller unit aboard your E-flite UMX Timber X includes a Spektrum receiver and ESC that can provide you with real-time flight battery voltage telemetry while you are airborne if you have a Spektrum Airware compatible transmitter such as DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, the iX12, iX20 and others.

Allowing for plenty of prop clearance and the ability to soak up the bumps associated with STOL the oversized tundra-style wheels on your E-flite UMX Timber X also give you the ability to fly from just about any indoor or outdoor surface. If flying onto and off water is your thing you can purchase the optional floats (EFLUA1190) that are sold separately allowing for a whole different world of flying sites. The LED light set up on the E-flite UMX Timber X includes navigation, landing and strobe lights that gives you more hours in the day to go flying. The Timber X is completely factory assembled using advanced EPS material that gives you a tough but lightweight airframe. You just need to bind your DSMX/DSM2 5+ channel transmitter and you can get airborne.

The advantages of Bind-N-Fly

If you already own a Spektrum transmitter then getting your E-flite UMX Timber X into the air is going to be even quicker. With the servos, 2.4GHz Spektrum receiver and power system already installed you just need to bind your receiver to the compatible transmitter, connect a charged battery and then you are cleared for a very short takeoff!
