June 10, 2013 9JR made a very exciting announcement this week, with the launch of their Airflow DLG1 Glider. The Airflow is JR's first glider. It is made from glass- and carbon-reinforced polymer (GRFP and CRFP respectively) material, giving this model a light flying weight of 155-165g. Mike was able to get a sneak preview of the new Airflow, and put this video on Modelflight's YouTube channel:

June 10, 2013 31Given the large range of remote control helIcopters at Modelflight, finding the one that is right for you is not always easy. One of the questions we often receive is what is the difference between gas and nitro helicopters? Today, we want to provide some explanations. Let's start with gas helicopters. These are otherwise known as 2-stroke engine helis and they run on standard unleaded fuel. This makes them less expensive to run. June 07, 2013 20It is a great day for fans of scale model planes. A new plane has been announced by Hangar 9, the P-47D-1 Thunderbolt 60. There are many great features with this Hangar 9 model plane. For instance, it features a printed, flat-finish UltraCote covering, with detailed panel lines. The scale outline as a whole has been accurately represented and you will notice how the Thunderbolt has operational flaps; enhancing its appearance and its flight envelope.

June 03, 2013 97So, an RC plane or RC heli comes with SAFE Technology. That all sounds good, but what exactly is SAFE Technology? SAFE is an abbreviation of Sensor-Assisted Flight Envelope and it is designed to improve the flight control of your model. SAFE Technology has been custom-tuned to suit fixed and rotary wing aircraft. This new technology incorporates multi-axis sensors and software, making the plane or heli easier to fly. Models with SAFE technology have a range of progressive performance options, so you can easily adjust the degree of security and flight control. For example, if you are a beginner,
