Whilst it appears a bit of a daunting build project to start, it couldn't have been easier. It goes together really nicely. Just follow the clear and fulsome instructions exactly and you can't go wrong.
I used all recommended components including the AR636 AS3X receiver - What a good idea that was!
I finished the plane in no time put put off my maiden flight until I was certain about setting up the AR636. I need not have waited. There are over a dozen step-by-step instruction videos by HH taking you through every step in a very clear and easy to follow manner.
I used a JR Matchbox for the 4 aileron servos and the 6 channel AR636 as usual. I set up 3 flight modes Gyro off, Gyro on and Heading Hold gyro on.
Maiden take off was with gyro off and after a few minutes of getting a feel for it (it was great) I flicked flight modes to Gyro on with rates at the recommended settings. It was a revelation it was now FANTASTIC to fly. I landed it, trimed the plane (via the rvr) and increased th gains to 35% and flew it some more. WOW!
I will always fly with the gyro on. It is like there is not a zepher of a breeze, when in fact it was quite gusty, such that I could only fly my 70" and up planes, and they couldnt handle the wind anywhere near the beast with this gyro.
And landing with the gyro is just a dream. so easy!
So not only does this plane look spectactular in the flesh it also flies like a dream but particularly so with the AR636....dont leav home without one!
