Product Information

The Bold Hangar 9 Beaver

Accurately recreating the famed "bush plane", the Hangar 9 de Havilland Beaver is a giant-scale model plane is both versatile and realistic. The DHC-2 Beaver features a 110 inch wingspan and can be powered with a 30cc gas engine. In keeping with the Hangar 9 tradition, the Beaver RC plane is constructed from the best balsa and plywood materials using modern construction processes, form assembly, tab alignment rigidity and laser-cut part accuracy. In doing so, Hangar 9 have created a remote control plane that excels in its appearance and flight performance.

Irrespective of whether this is your first giant-scale plane or you are a seasoned pilot, you will find that the Beaver's easy flying characteristics make it a joy to fly. With the plane's operational flaps, this Hangar 9 plane has great low-speed performance for short field operation and for pilots who want to replicate full-scale performance. Both sides of the fuselage feature scale-shape doors that open wide to give you generous access to the interior, which includes scale details such as pilot seats and an instrument panel.

The DHC-2 Beaver features corrugated control surfaces that comes factory-applied to simulate the aluminium sheeting used on the full-size rudder, elevator, ailerons and flaps for control surface rigidity. Hangar 9 have also focused on the fibreglass details, painting the radial cowl and landing gear fairings so that they match the Hangar 9 UltraCote covering. The sculpted shape of the wing tips is also replicated in fibreglass.

This model has a wood construction and also features a two-piece wing and horizontal stabiliser. The two wing panels that make up the wingspan slide over an aluminium joiner tube and pin into the fuselage sides with rods and a nylon thumb screw. Each airfoil shaped wing strut provides structural support and secures in place with a quick-release mechanism. Furthermore, each half of the horizontal stabiliser connects to the tail section with an aluminium joiner tube for extra support. This also makes assembly, storage and transportation easier.

The all wood airframe of this scale plane is finished in genuine Hangar 9 UltraCote covering; known for its durable finish, outstanding appearance and ease of maintenance. If you would like, the DHC-2 Beaver can be converted into a float plane with the addition of an optional float strut set (HAN454512) and floats (HAN4580). Please note that both these items are sold separately. Additionally, because this plane comes almost-ready-to-fly, there are several parts you will need to complete the model. Please refer to the "What You Need" section below for further details. If you appreciate scale model planes, the Hangar 9 de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver is an outstanding choice, offering both accuracy and versatility. Order yours today.
