Losi made a major announcement this week, with the launch of their brand new 5IVE-T Roller RC Truck. If you loved the original Losi 5IVe-T or you are a fan of 1/5th scale nitro trucks in general, this is one car you will want to check out.
Building upon the solid foundation of its predecessor, the Losi 5IVE-T Roller is stronger and more customisable. This 1/5th scale RC truck features a 4WD power train with all-metal gears. The 5mm aluminium chassis is based on the successful 8IGHT platform. The Losi 5IVE-T Roller is equipped with 3-tunable sealed viscious differentials and large-bore shocks with 7mm shafts/threaded adjusters.
This RC truck comes with multi-piece beadlock off-road wheels and an aluminium dual-disk braking system. You will receive an extra-large 800cc fuel tank with clunk. Losi have included 2-stage air and fuel filter systems and a full roll cage which has been modelled after full-scale trucks.
The 5IVE-T Roller comes with a 4-piece body, with the ability to replace individual panels. CV driveshafts are used throughout the truck and it features an innovative sealed clutch mount with cooling fans.
In terms of its realism and performance, the Losi 5IVE-T Roller is the closest thing to a full-size vehicle. When you add your own choice of electronics and engine, you will have a mean machine that can take on any terrain. As a guide, Modelflight would recommend the Losi 26cc gas engine with clutch. The DX3C surface radio system from Spektrum would also be a suitable transmitter for this RC truck.
