The Latest and Greatest Drone From Blade

Continuing to build on the strongest of foundations, the new Blade 350 QX3 is the ultimate aerial photography and filming package. Designed especially for a GoPro camera (sold separately), the 350 QX3 comes with the renowned Sensor-Assisted Flight Envelope (SAFE) Technology. SAFE gives the QX3 two flight modes that have been specially designed for aerial filming and photography - Smart and Aerial Photography (AP).

Smart Mode is a great choice if you have never flown a drone before. This mode offers Stick Relativity, whereby the quadcopter will fly in whatever direction the control stick is pushed. It doesn't matter which direction the nose is pointing. If, for example, you move the stick to the right, the 350 QX3 will fly to the right, even if it is spinning. Smart Mode also offers a SAFE Circle barrier, that prevents the drone from flying too close to you, the pilot. AP Mode is designed for more experienced drone pilots. The Stick Relativity and SAFE Circle features are switched off, allowing you to fly the 350QX3 like a normal RC aircraft. You will also be able to access steeper bank and pitch angles; allowing you to perform faster panning and tracking shots.

Both these modes come with smart-levelling; utilising GPS and altitude sensors to achieve precise hovers. These modes also feature Return Home functionality. This safety feature can be activated any time with the flip of a switch. In doing so, the drone will automatically fly itself back to the place where you first launched and land automatically. In the unlikely event that the signal is lost, Return Home will automatically initiate.

For added safety, this drone comes with adjustable flight boundaries. Out of the box, the boundaries are set at 100m from, and 50m above, the point where the motors were started. However, these boundaries can be adjusted using the QX3's programming interface (which will be discussed shortly). For instance, the distance boundary range can be set from 20 to 2500m (approximately 65 feet to 1.5 miles). The height boundary range can be set from 20 to 1000m (approximately 65 to 3,280 feet).

The Ready-To-Fly Aerial Photography Solution

The Blade 350 QX3 comes with a free PC programming interface. This intuitive software makes monitoring systems, adjusting sensors and calibrating sensors easy. The interface offers four programming screens, the first one being Sensor Information. This allows you to check the status of all sensors and speed controls. You can also check the battery voltage and accelerometer operation. In the Calibration Screen, you can calibrate the accelerometers and camera gimbal with a single click. This screen also provides you with instructions for calibrating the compass sensor and DX4 transmitter. The geo-referenced flight boundaries can also be adjusted. The GPS Screen allows you to see the number of available satellites and the signal strength. You can use this screen to verify the latitude, longitude and altitude indications, in addition to the GPS accuracy. The final screen is Device Information, which allows you to see the programming software and quad firmware versions. You can also use this screen to update the firmware.

The Blade 350 QX3 comes ready-to-fly with a Spektrum DX4 transmitter. This is a full-range radio that uses Spektrum's reliable DSMX 2.4GHz technology, giving you great range and interference protection. What's more, the DX4 comes with spring-loaded sticks that make flying this drone very easy. For example, when using the throttle stick to enter a hover, you can just climb or descend to the atitude you want and let the stick go. The drone will automatically hold altitude when the stick snaps back to neutral. This is true for the other controls as well. When the 350 QX3 is in position, just let the sticks go and SAFE will stabilise the drone until you are ready to fly to a new position.

In addition to this transmitter, the 350 QX3 comes with a 3000mAh LiPo battery and a DC charger with AC adapter. Its GoPro-compatible camera mount includes rubber dampeners to minimise vibration and give you a better image quality. This mount can also accomodate the new Blade CGO2 GB camera (sold separately). This will be a great choice for the QX3, offering 16 megapixel quality and live video streaming to compatible iOS or Android devices at a download speed of up to 30mbps. Please note that this camera will require the tall landing gear set, which is also available separately.

The Blade 350 QX3 is an outstanding aerial photography drone that will deliver mesmerising performance and footage. Order yours now.
