Generally electrics are cleaner, quieter, require less maintenance, and are more affordable. Nitro vehicles are faster, can run for hours without stopping, and are more realistic to most people. Nitro models require a greater level of skill in both driving, and keeping up with maintenance and repair. Traxxas electric and nitro models have an advantage in that they are available fully assembled and ready-to-run. Traxxas ready-to-runs are the best solution if you are intimidated by the process of building a complex kit, or you just simply don't have enough time. If you have never had a nitro model before, then the Traxxas Nitro Sport should be your first consideration. The Nitro Sport is designed to be an easy entry into the nitro R/C hobby. It has a TRX .15 engine which features simple, single-needle carburetor adjustment and an onboard, push-button electric starter. Can I run my Traxxas model at the same time as my friend who also has a Traxxas? On every radio system, there is a crystal in the transmitter and a matching crystal in the receiver onboard the vehicle. These crystals control the frequency that your vehicle uses in its transmitting and receiving of its signals. As long as your two radio systems are using different frequencies (different color crystal sets), they will not interfere with one another. Traxxas offers six different frequency crystal sets for its radio system. If you and your friend happen to be on the same frequency, you can purchase a replacement crystal set for your radio system so you can run your models at the same time. The part number to order would depend on which frequency crystal set you need. to the top Can I run my Traxxas Boat in salt water? All of our boats can be used in salt water. Just like a full-size boat, the model boats need to be flushed out with fresh water after use, and then oiled to help prevent corrosion. Remove or protect the radio system before flushing the boat with the fresh water. Periodically remove the top of the water cooled head on the Nitro Vee to remove the salt and mineral deposits which will accumulate.
