Aerobird Xtreme
Overview
It's Huge!
With a wing spanning just over 4.5
feet and a powerful electric motor, the big Aerobird
Xtreme is the ultimate in HobbyZone flying fun. Its
larger size and spirited performance are not only
ideal for advanced HobbyZone pilots and veteran RC
fliers, but it lets you fly in winds that would
ground smaller ready-to-fly planes.
Along with the larger size, you also get the benefit
of HobbyZone's Multi-Mode flight control software.
If you're moving up from a Zone 1 or 2 HobbyZone
plane, Multi-Mode lets you get the feel for the
Aerobird Xtreme using smooth, stable Sport Mode.
Once you've mastered Sport Mode, unlock Pro Mode for
extreme V-tail maneuverability that's perfect for
loops, whip stalls and chandelles. The Aerobird
Xtreme is also equipped with HobbyZone's exclusive
X-Port that lets you expand your experience with
thrilling plug-n-play accessories like the optional
Sonic Combat Module or Aerial Drop Module.

How does HobbyZone's Flight-Trak system work? |
Flight-Trak lets anyone, even if they've never flown before, fly with complete confidence using only steering and throttle like an RC car.
Flight-Trak controls steering using a V-tail. When a right turn is commanded, the left control surface deflects upward turning the airplane right. The right control surface remains neutral to help maintain altitude and stabilize the turn. The unique, triple-taper, polyhedral wing that all HobbyZone airplanes use also helps stabilize the turn by resisting over banking.
A left turn is made by movement from the right control surface. Note the left surface stays neutral. A right turn is made by movement from the left control surface. Note the right surface stays neutral.
Climb and decent are controlled using the throttle. When full throttle is applied, excess thrust, as well as the prop wash being blown over the V-tail surfaces, causes a Flight-Trak-equipped HobbyZone plane to climb. To descend, all pilots have to do is release the throttle to glide gently back to earth.
Ascent is achieved when full throttle is applied. Descent is achieved by releasing the throttle. |
