Graupner Shark Details

This semi-scale model of a research submarine is mainly meant for the advanced modeller. The sub dives dynamically. Use of the recommended powerplant provides a speed of 2-3 m/sec. For this reason the submarine should be operated in clear water only or in a swimming pool etc. The running characteristics of the submerged vehicle are comparable with those of a model plane in flight. An inexperienced pilot should therefore preferably operate the submarine at reduced speed. Well-trained submarine commander may consider the installation of a higher-powered motor to increase the speed of the model still more. The plastic hull consists of two parts. Power is supplied by an electric motor SPEED 500, the output of which is transmitted to two contra- rotating marine propellers via a gearbox.

The pressure sensor permits adjusting a predeter- mined depth of dive of the submarine. On reaching that depth the electronics automatically cause the hydroplane servo to react. The set contains the pressure sensor and electronics
