Overview

Affectionately dubbed "The Jug", Republic’s P-47D Thunderbolt was a swift, multi-role fighter that was as much of a menace to ground targets as it was enemy aircraft. Its rugged airframe, armored cockpit and eight .50-caliber machine guns allowed its pilots to fly into the teeth of heavy fire, devastate a ground target and still make it home despite significant damage.

ParkZone has brought The Jug to life with this great flying scale recreation that comes out of the box with details like a simulated radial engine, molded panel lines and a realistic 404th Fighter Group paint scheme. It’s even set up to let you easily add the option of functional flaps and retractable landing gear. And you can bet it flies every bit as good as it looks. The 15-size brushless motor and E-flite 30A Pro brushless ESC that are installed for you will provide more than enough power for high-speed strafing runs and sport aerobatics.

Best of all, you can have this Plug-N-Play® version ready to fly in minutes. All you need is a 4-channel full range or park flyer aircraft transmitter and receiver, a 3S 11.1V 2200mAh Li-Po battery, and a 3S Li-Po charger. A minimum of 6 channels will be required if you want to add the optional flaps and retractable landing gear.

Parkzone P-47 Thunderbolt Review star on star on star on star on star on

Ok guys, I have a lot to say. First the design of this plane is flawless. Detail is amazing. I own a T-28 and a Corsair and both are excellent planes as well. But the P-47 takes the prize. I fly in an area with plenty of grass and air but not much concrete so landing on gears is a little tough and tight on windy days. I am a terrible hand launcher....The P-47 solves my dilemma. I took off with the retracts (which work amazing) since not much room is needed for takeoff, pulled the gear up, and belly landed in the grass. This plane tracks on rails. Without flaps this plane slowed down for a perfect belly skid. The clear belly skids are awesome and not a scratch on the plane or even the bottom of the cowl. This plane has the motor of the Extra 300 so it cooks! Much faster than the T-28 and Corsair. CG was perfect with the retracts and only one click of down elevator and one click of left aileron was needed for me. High rates with 55% expo and low rates at 55% travel (of the high rate) and 20% expo worked perfectly. VERY stable at low speed and VERY responsive at high rates. With throttle management I got 7 minutes on the 2200mah with room to spare. This plane should have 7 stars out of 5. Parkzone designers should be well commended for this plane. Buy it...you'll see. :)

Great fun to fly. Best park flyer I have ever had. Flown about 30 times now. Fast, stable, reasonably aerobatic. Knife edge, loops, twists, upside down, etc all predictable. Can make throws even more than recommended for aerobatics and still stable. Run 40 - 50 Exponentials. Excellent vertical power. Electric retracts easy to instal and work great. Fitted flaps but not really needed. 2,200MaH battery lasts more than 8 minutes. Was flying within 2 hours of unpacking
