Mini Ultra Stick ARF BulletinsYou must use a separate BEC or an onboard receiver battery pack when utilizing the quad flap option due to the higher number of servos used in the aircraft and higher current load. Brushless speed controls are not rated to handle more than four servos under load. Please consult the brushless speed control instructions for details and how to disable the BEC on your speed control. For your convenience, the Mini Ultra Stick features pre-installed pushrod tubes. If you are experiencing any issue with the pushrods sticking and do not have a free movement of the rods, please use an X-acto to open up the ends of the tubes. The tubes were cut at the factory at are rough and in some cases crimped from the cutting process. You should check this when you install your pushrods.
Mini Ultra Stick ARF Team TipsTwo Firewall Options
Optimize the Mini Ultra Stick for use with outrunner or inrunner geared motors with one of two firewalls that are included. A molded bulkhead stick mount is also included, allowing you to use any of the most popular motor sizes and brands available.
Bolt-on Tail and Wing
Two hex screws hold the wing firmly in place and make it easy to access the elevator and rudder servos, as well as the receiver. The tail is secured with two heavy-duty lock nuts.
Quad Flap Conversion
Pilots can push the Mini Ultra Stick’s flight envelope even further with the optional split, quad-flap configuration. The wing includes extra servo trays and special aileron construction that makes converting to this configuration quick and easy. A 7-channel radio and receiver with servo reversing capability is required along with some additional servo extentions for this option.
You must use a separate BEC or receiver battery since brushless esc typically cannot handle the current load of more than four servos.
Power Setup Overview
The Mini Ultra Stick is versatile enough to accommodate a wide variety of motor choices. E-flite’s Park 450 890Kv Brushless Outrunner Motor (EFLM1400) with Outrunner Stick Mount (EFLM1915) provides excellent aerobatic or sport performance when matched with a 10 x 7 prop (EFLP1070). For a high power geared alternative, try the E-flite Park 400 4200Kv Brushless Inrunner Motor (EFLM1100) with a 6.5:1 gearbox (EFLM240) and 11 x 7 prop (EFLP1170).
Spektrum DX6 2.4GHz DSM Radio
The Mini Ultra Stick requires a 4-channel transmitter (7-channel w/mixing for quad flap option) and micro receiver. We recommend the crystal-free, interference-free Spektrum DX6 2.4GHz DSM System, which includes a micro receiver and 4 sub-micro servos. |
