| Canterbury Sailplane Falcon | By definition: "The Falcon is a small bird of prey" – which is the perfect description for this mini dynamo! The Falcon was designed specifically for catapult launches, but it also makes a really exciting slope soarer as well!
Catapult launches are amazing to watch and pure adrenaline pumping fun for the pilot. From release the Falcon streaks horizontally across the field before dropping the catapult off the tow hook and rocketing vertically, up to 60 metres high – with 3 or 4 rolls on the way up, it looks spectacular! From the top of the climb you have enough height to do another 5 or 6 rolls and half loops on the way down to land at your feet.
This is not a thermal soarer – it's an aerobatic glider junkies park flier!
On the slope the Falcon has a super quick roll rate and despite its light weight, it's very clean lines help it to penetrate easily into a 15 – 20knot breeze without adding ballast. The Falcon is a really fun model to fly and it doesn't need a lot of sky to fly in!
Special thanks to Jean Morreau for the inspiration to create the Falcon.
