The Tracer has evolved from the development electric powered model Dave Griffin started before he sold Canterbury Sailplanes. The Tracer is a brilliant all round sport/3D EP model.
There are a couple of unique things about the Tracer, the wing has a fully symmetrical hollow section with a carbon spar and EPP hinging for the ailerons - it's all one piece!
The other good feature is the fuselage has enough thickness (30mm) to allow servos to sit out of the breeze in pre-cut recesses.
The Tracer was designed around the cheap GWS350 geared motor to save cost, however that doesn't mean it's performance has suffered. It does all the usual aero's on half throttle - including hovering, but at full throttle it climbs vertically! By adding a brushless motor later you could turn it into a really hot 3D fun machine.
Flying the Tracer is great fun, the rudder and elevator are all moving, so the control response is very positive. On low rates it’s a real pussycat, increase the rates and it's pure 3D fun, fully aerobatic with vertical performance and because it's made totally from EPP, it's able to handle those inevitable knocks!
All the EPP components included in the kit are produced with a computer controlled dual axis cutting machine and finished by hand to ensure the quality of each part is correct and ready to assemble. CS Tracer Specifications:- Wingspan 830mm/32.5"
