| Canterbury Sailplane Eaglet | The Eaglet is a versatile light-weight EPP sailplane, suitable for light wind slope soaring and thermal soaring from a hand launch off the flat. The Eaglets fuselage and wing is all EPP, so it has the ability to bounce without breaking – ideal for a first HLG.
At just 290gms (10.3oz) all up weight including radio gear, the Eaglets wing loading is very low. This makes it sensitive to lift, which it indicates very well and that makes thermal soaring a whole lot easier!
The Eaglet is the first rudder/elevator model Canterbury Sailplanes has produced. This set-up saved about 15% off the weight of the prototype using ailerons – which is a lot for a model like the Eaglet. We haven't compromised on the performance though, the Eaglets balanced rudder design turns the model easily and is equally as responsive as ailerons.
The stall speed is very low, due to the Eaglets light weight and wing design, so you can almost slow the Eaglet down to a walking pace without stalling it. The Eaglet uses the Eppler 174 wing section to get the best performance for a high speed hand launch and efficient glide. The low drag design of the Eaglet also lets you move the model quickly out of sink and into lift.
The greatest thing about the Eaglet is it's a lot of fun to fly – beginners to experts will love flying it! Still air flight times average around 40sec, but in the right conditions you can thermal the Eaglet out of sight!CS Eaglet Specifications:- Span: 1200mm
