We are pleased to bring the first in a series of blog posts on the exciting new RC cars from Vaterra. In this post, we will be looking at Vaterra's desert raider, the Kalahari.
The Vaterra Kalahari is a 1/14-scale RC car modelled on the extraordinary cars that compete in desert rally raids; one of the toughest competitions in the world of racing. These cars are built to endure the hot sand and tough brush. The Kalahari from Vaterra is no different.
We were fortunate enough to film a preview video of the Kalahari for you. In this video, Mike talks about how the desert raider is designed to handle the most rugged terrain. This video also features the Vaterra Kemora. If you would like to read more about this car, we have covered the Kemora in a separate blog post.

As Mike describes, this is a really adventurous car. With its strong 4WD chassis and 4-wheel independent suspension, this RC car can take on the most blistering terrain.
To see the Kalahari in all its glory, we have put this video on Modelflight's YouTube channel:

As you can see, this desert raider lives up to its name. This is because of the extraordinary lengths Vaterra have gone to when engineering this vehicle. Among its many features, the Kalahari has a durable metal gear drivetrain, shock-absorbing slipper clutch and adjustable oil-filled aluminium shocks. Rest assured, this RC car comes with a chassis dust cover and waterproof electronics, so you will not have to worry about it being damaged by the elements.
The Kalahari is powered by a 4500Kv brushless power system and, when equipped with an optional 3S LiPo battery (sold separately), can reach speeds above 75km/h!
This Vaterra RC car is a trailblazer in the truest sense of the word. For RC drivers seeking the ultimate challenge, this new off-road wonder is a fantastic choice and is available now from Modelflight for just $299.99!
